Sandcherry - Main Floor Renovation

This project was extensive. Ceilings were removed to add insulation, and a resilient channel system to eliminate sound transfer from the second floor to the main family area. Pot lights and new feature fixtures were selected for entry, stairwell, and island.

All interior and exterior doors were replaced with updated designs. Flooring throughout was replaced with 10” Oak plank, with matt black porcelain in the mud room. Custom Beveled Shaker Style Kitchen cabinetry and family room built-ins were designed, all finished in Benjamin Moore's Balboa Mist. The walls and crown were finished in the same colour, carried throughout for a consistent soft finish, flowing through the main floor, upper hall and stairwell. Cambria Quartz was used for countertops and backsplash. A custom stainless steel backsplash was installed to accommodate the 48” Thermidor range. The butlers pantry offers a great coffee bar/ prep or serving area, with swing door into the dining room. The Farmhouse style sink is a Kohler Porcelain in Indigo. An indigo colour was selected for the island to highlight the introduction of blue accents.

New furnishings throughout include a round kitchen table for more intimate dinner parties and everyday use. The sectional offers practical seating for family, including grandchildren and pets. A new gas insert with granite surround finishes the fireplace, also clad in Shaker pilasters. A hand loomed wool and silk carpet in an abstract design ground the conversation area.

A fun, tropical wallpaper greets guests as they enter the Powder Room.

All in all, the full renovation has revitalized this 25 year old family home.
